Meeting the Goddess, India Flint
In 2017, I got to meet India Flint. A lady that I had been wanting to meet for a number of years after reading a book of hers called 'Eco Colour". I spent a magic week with other lovely ladies in Allansford, Victoria, at the Botanical Studio. India is a scientist, a poet, a philosopher, a 'slow' sewer and a delightful gentle woman. She has a beautiful outlook on life and ecology. Unfortunately, the workshop this year was cancelled. It was so disappointing because I had done up my Kombi as a camper, and set myself up as a casual teacher, just so I could attend this event. I may never get that opportunity again, but I am eternally grateful for the lessons that she taught me. Over the last few weeks I have picked up my needle and have slow stitched a few eco-dyed items, my India 'uniform'.
